More Time Fishing, Less Time Rigging

The dropper rig box is 100% Made in Colorado and has been designed so that you can store flies and dropper rigs in one box. This is an elegant solution that is user friendly and reduces the amount of stuff in your fishing bag, making your fly fishing experience more enjoyable. And the most important part is that you spend more time fishing and less time rigging in the field – rig in advance and carry them with you! Tandem Fly Co. says “quit wasting time rigging up.”

What is the Dropper Rig Box Anyway?

This fly box is made from a strong polycarbonate shell. The closure is magnetic, and it includes lanyard loops too. The main portion of the box can store up to 276 flies according to Tandem Fly Co. and the real kicker is the slit foam dropper page inserts. These inserts can store up to eight dropper rigs and they clip into the box. This means, you can purchase as many dropper pages as you want and use them interchangeably – dry dropper rigs on one page, double nymph rigs on another, etc.

Since 2019 we’ve been making dropper rig fly boxes here in Colorado. Our boxes are the best system for fly and rig storage, holding up to 8 rigs and 276 flies. We strive to make premium fly fishing products that are rugged and dependable, that’s why we designed, manufactured and assembled these things ourselves. With our box, you can finally quit wasting time rigging up and get to what’s really important—fishing! – Tandem Fly Co.

This system provides a lot of flexibility for you to customize how your fly box is loaded depending on location, season, etc. And with this much storage capacity, this box is likely the only one you’ll need for that pre-dawn trip, after work escape, or weekend getaway.

Made in Colorado

Tandem Fly Co. is based in Conifer, Colorado (in the mountains west of Denver) and is owned and operated by two passionate fishermen (Elliot and Ryan). The company was launched in the same way so many others are, while these guys hold down full time jobs. AmericanOutdoorGearHub.com gives them big props for turning the idea into reality by stepping out on the ledge and jumping off. Convincing yourself to lift your foot and take that last step while staring down the unknown and the inherent risks takes courage and guts. Good on ya for making it happen!

Passionate About Fishing

Finding time to run the company is the biggest challenge they currently face. So, they are burning the midnight oil and hustling on weekends. Despite the lack of sleep, they are upbeat and rolling downhill.

We are having a blast building our business and seeing people hyped on our product. -Tandem Fly Co.

Elliot and Ryan are motivated to ultimately work for themselves and are off to a great start. The bottom line is that they are passionate about fishing and being part of the fly fishing community. The dropper rig box was created as a direct extension of that passion. They set out to make a product they’re proud of where they could remain a part of the fly fishing community, and they’ve done just that.

Having a product that is made in the USA feels good. I like supporting local businesses because it gives you more of a connection to the product. It’s also nice knowing that the people making this stuff are working in decent conditions with a decent wage. – Tandem Fly Co.

Not only is the dropper rig fly box manufactured in Colorado, they source practically everything locally, down to the adhesive, hinge pins, and display packaging. One of the advantages of local manufacturing is proximity to suppliers and partners. Tandem Fly Co. is conveniently located about 20 minutes away from their injection molder!
