We produce 100% of our products in the United States by choice. No exceptions. The simple reason is quality. At Abel, we craft every product from start to finish in house.
Each part in an Adipose boat, including the hull, is manufactured right here in our Helena, Montana factory. We use a combination of hand-laid and vacuum-bagged methods to construct our boats. Using only high-grade biaxial fiberglass cloth, our boats are stronger and stiffer than the competition, while remaining lightweight. Every product we use, from the seats, to the paint, to the last nuts and bolts, are of the highest marine-grade quality.
All AIRE boats are made in Meridian, Idaho, USA. Each raft, cataraft, kayak and SUP are manufactured to live up to the standards of whitewater enthusiasts, which includes our team at AIRE. We build boats, package boats, sell boats, ship boats out and at the end of the day, we get out on the water and go boating. This is our passion!
Appalachian Gear Company produces the first ever lightweight Outdoor Lifestyle garments and gear made from 100% Alpaca Fiber. We make our Patent Pending All-Paca® products in North Carolina.
When we introduced All-Paca® Shirts, Fleece Hoodies, and Beanies in 2018, it represented completely new class of performance fabric crafted from 100% Alpaca Fiber without the use of synthetics. Over-use of synthetic fibers in garments has led to an emerging issue of micro-plastics in the environment, and we felt the time was right to highlight the benefits of Alpaca – Nature’s best performance fiber. Established in 1946 as a one man machine shop in Duarte, CA., Barrel Service Company today is a contract manufacturer with 40 employees located in North San Diego County, CA. in a 22,000 square foot building on 5 acres. Many of our family and friends here at Barrel Service are avid fly-fishermen. As a result, in 2009, we came to realize that our shop capabilities and resources could be used to create very capable and yet affordable fly fishing reels. Therefore, we’ve used our 60+ years of contract machining experience to build a product that is of very high quality without an outrageous price tag. The low price of our reel does not indicate that we cut any corners in its construction. There are no castings or weak plastic parts anywhere in the assembly. It is cut completely from solid aluminum just like the most premium reels on the market.
Founded in Bend, Oregon in 2008, BlackStrap manufactures accessories for skiers, snowboarders, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts. Each BlackStrap facegear product is a true product of the USA with domestically milled fabric, US based cut and sew facilities and is distributed from our headquarters in Bend, Oregon.
Unlike heavy drift boats made of fiberglass, we handcraft our boats using some of the most advanced materials – the strongest, most flexible polymer that can be welded by hand. The combination of old world craftsmanship with new world materials is what makes our boats the lightest, fastest, and best handling drift boats on the water. And they’re virtually maintenance free.
Fishing and Wood working are a hobby of ours. A beautiful day on the river brought about a slip and fall breaking my net. Once back at the shop we realized we could build our own net to replace it. We used the old net as a template and reused the bag. That net led to us making one as a Christmas gift. We shared a picture online soon we had people asking for us to make something special for them. One order led to another and another until we formed Brady’s Handmade Nets. Now we create high quality handcrafted landing nets everyday here in South Carolina!

Here at Moonlit Fly Fishing we specialize in the ancient art form of Furling. Using this ancient art form we are able to make very light and delicate Leaders/Tenkara Line. All of our other rods are assembled, by hand, overseas, utilizing South Korean and Japanese graphite or glass, and top quality hardware. We personally inspect each rod upon receiving them, polish the reel seat and make sure they are awesome before we send them your way. If we could make all of our rods in the USA at our current price points, we would, however it is currently not possible. We’ve chosen to give regular folks the option of buying an exceptionally high quality fly rod made using top end materials, at a price that they can actually afford.

IMPROVING THE FISHING EXPERIENCE – This has been our tag line since we started because it is also our guiding vision – be that on the water, on the river bank, at the tying table, or chilling by the campfire. Our first products shipped in Jan 2005. In 2009 we entered into an exclusive distribution deal with Umpqua Feather Merchants. . . The arrangement worked ok for both companies, but in the summer of 2012 we made the decision to go our separate ways. By 2012 it was very apparent that our tools were being copied by every accessory company in Fishing and that they would continue to be as long as other people were doing the manufacturing. In 2015 we pivoted again and moved our operations away from the warehouse in Salt Lake City up to a rural property in the mountains and a barn that we turned into a manufacturing center. Currently . . . we are again hammering with R&D and working towards some exciting new products while also refining our production techniques to increase our volume.
